BODi Live - Getting Trainer Recognition

After doing Beachbody on Demand Interactive (BODi) for a couple weeks now, I have gotten to the point where I am familiar with a couple different trainers and how they like to run their classes. With over 25 trainers, everyone can identify with at least one. While everyone can probably attest to having their favorite trainer, do trainers have favorite BODCast members?

Let’s take a look from the trainer’s perspective to see if its possible for them to remember us!

During the workout there are 32 BODCast screens with potentially different people every-time. There are usually more than that in a workout, i’ve seen up to 250 people together live. Trainers can see and interact with BODCast members and even feature them on a large screen in the Studio.

For Example, during one of the workouts last week the trainer, Justin, gave me some corrections and pointers during our LIVE workout.

Justin saw my form on the BODCast and gave me some LIVE pointers!

After the Workout I made an Instagram post, tagging Justin and telling him how he helped me during the Live workout.

Not only did he see the post, he commented and interacted. It made me feel that my workout was traveling with me through my day seeing everyone comment, like and support my Health and Fitness goals.

Justin commenting on my Instagram Post!

A few days later, Im attending another of Justin’s BODClasses and then this Happens:

Justin Remembering me from a few days prior.

It appears that BODi Trainers can remember BODi cast members, stay consistent with your workouts and it could be you up there next time!

Being a regular and attending your favorite BODi Trainer’s classes can have the accidental benefit of building a relationship. Knowing that Justin recognizes me will keep me coming back and wanting to get up on the BODCast and show everyone those new and improved moves!

Now that we know Trainers see and can remember the BODCast, Let’s talk about what BODCast actually is and how to get on.

In other words, To have a chance at making the BODCast, be prepared and Plan out your workouts ahead of time. You can join classes Before their actual start time/date. Next, Within 24 hours of the class start time check back on the class, There should Be a blue “RESERVE A SPOT” button (See Below for example). Click that button to reserve your BODCast spot.

Reserve Your Spot with the Button along the bottom

Spot Reserved! Also notice the Camera Icon confirming you’ll be on the BODCast.

If the button is unavailable, The class must be fairly popular. There are only 75 available spots and they fill fast! Don’t worry, if the class is full you can still join the class to work out, you just won’t show up on screen.

Learning how to sign up for a spot is only half the battle. With 32 members being featured and 75 spots available, let’s take a look at other factors that contribute to being selected.

One of the most important things to being on the BODCast is logging into the workout 10-15 Minutes Before the scheduled start time. Sometimes the producers will go through and ask individuals to adjust the picture or camera angle. It’s always good when the production crew is setting you up ahead of time, they know which and how they want shots. Having them tell you exactly where to put your camera is the easiest way to get on the BODCast!

If you are running late or don’t have enough wiggle room in your schedule to show up and get setup early, here are a few tips to help get the best angle as possible.

  • Position Camera between 6-7 Feet Away - You want your whole body in the shot. Make sure to leave enough space that you don’t get cut off when you stand or are on ground for floor work. This applies to the bike workouts also, Sometimes you will be out of your saddle other times workouts may include Weights on the floor.

  • Position the Camera around 4-5 Feet off the Ground - Aim for the camera to start Mid-Chest standing.

  • Make sure the camera is stable - Mount your Camera/Phone on a Tripod (if you have one) or set it up so it wont fall. The last thing producers want to see is a camera sideways on the ground after falling.

  • Use a Well-Lit Room - Make sure the camera can pick up on you and your face. If you have a window, place it behind the camera!

  • Have a Plain or Simple Background - Having a background that is free of distractions ensures that the camera focuses on you.

  • Keep your mat, towel, equipment, and water nearby - Leaving the screen for any length of time will lessen the chances you are on the big screen, When your in the BODCast try to keep everything nearby,

Using the above tips, you should be able to rise above the other BODCast members trying to get on screen.

Not everything can add value as a BODCast member, there are definitely some things that can cause producers to choose another BODCast member.

  • Don’t Be Shy - You have signed up to be on the BODCast, it was not an accident. When/If the camera centers on you, DO NOT PANIC and clam up. Just continue doing the exercises (with corrections, if given) at your best intensity level. Be the example for everyone watching at home!

  • Avoid political, promotional, or offensive decorations/clothing - The BODi workouts are broadcast and saved for viewing later. Beachbody as a company wants to promote their own brand and lifestyle, having clothing/decorations that promote something else probably won’t get you on camera as easily.

  • Having Non-Beachbody Logos or Branding - Having a competitors slogan or logo on your clothing distracts from what everyone in the BODCast is trying to achieve (Their Health and Fitness Goals)

In Conclusion, With Live Workouts BODi Trainers can build relationships and remember individuals that attend their classes. Remember, Your work does not stop when the BODCast ends. Take the most valuable part of the workout (whether that is the corrections, the motivations or just a point when you made it to the big Screen and share on social media, don’t forget to tag your instructor! Build that relationship and have trainers looking for you on their BODcasts!
