Tour De Pants Results

With Tour De pants Officially over, we asked our Collaborators about their Results.

This Post is a follow-up on our Tour De pants Challenge That happened in September.

Christopher

For Me, Tour De pants awakened an entirely new way to workout. From my time in the Military, I am unable to do a lot of High-Impact exercises. In the past, I would always do the modifiers for exercises and feel like I was missing out on a portion of the Workout. Tour De pants is already Low-Impact!

For the first few rides, I was not really enjoying myself. I had to get familiar with a Stationary bike, how to adjust it and the pace of the workouts. After about the first week or so, I fell into a groove with the rides. I ended up enjoying them WAY MORE than I imagined. Many of the trainers provide motivation and Support, during their videos, I even made the BODCast a couple times.

I feel that Overall I got a well-rounded view of a biking program. During the Challenge, I went between the “Build” block and the “Ride” block. This was more like the Weight-Lifting Programs I was familiar with. There were even a few days that combined Weight Lifting and riding a bike, those were my favorite!

Looking at the chart above, what stands out to me the most is that I lost 5.5% of my body Fat.

Right now I am attempting to Gain Weight, so the fact that I didn’t gain any bummed me out. I need to get up on Nutrition and Ensure i’m eating enough calories through the day.

If you are reading this thinking that Bike workouts are easy, think again. I lost almost 10 lbs of fat from the rides.

Unbelievably, I also gained almost 10 lbs of Muscle over the Challenge.

Next I want to analyze where exactly I gained muscle and lost Fat, Lets look at Arm and Leg Measurements.

Arms

Holy Arm Measurements. It makes me happy to see that Every Single one of my Arm Measurements Increased!

It appears that my left arm had some catching up to do with my Right arm, both the Bicep and Forearm increased dramatically.

The BODi “Build” Block was perfect for getting both of my arms to the same starting point, there was nothing too heavy or serious in regards to lifting weights.

In my opinion, the “Arms” measurements contained most of the Gainz made through the program.

Legs

Leg Days. Most people are either Team “Love Legs” OR team “Hate Legs”, I tend to experience both sides of that argument.

On average Leg days for me start off on “Hate Legs” until i get warmed up and through the workout. I really Start to “Love Legs” near the end of the workout. I feel good and great that I got my workout in. When I wake up the next morning, I remember what I dislike about Legs. when walking to the Kitchen for Breakfast.

Regardless of how you feel about Leg Days, look at the data above: My thighs transformed the most in regard to fat-loss. I do have a Stubborn Left Calf, that appears to Gained inches and caught up to the right side.

In my opinion, the “Legs” contained most of the Fat-loss I experienced.

My Health Plan

Throughout the BODi Block, I was utilizing a few supplements that I would like to Mention:

  • Recovery - After my Workouts, Especially after Leg Days. Overall contributed to Less Soreness

  • First Thing - Every morning I would take the Health Shot. For More Information: What is First thing?

  • Protein Powder - I was supplementing with protein powder, as needed, to reach my macronutrient goals.

I was Fasting for the Majority of the day, From about 9pm(day before) - to about 5pm.

I would have a pre-workout Snack to transition into my eating window (5-9pm) where I would eat

Conclusion

In conclusion, I am on a good start to reaching my Health and Fitness Goals. I have solid fat Loss, Good Muscle Gain and lower overall Body Fat %. Different sides of my body were catching up to one another and getting a good base of Fitness going forward. It would seem that I am close if not right on the Macronutrients of my diet. I should increase the quantity of foods I am already eating to reach my goal of Gaining Weight from Muscle growth.

Tour De Pants was a great reintroduction to working out. Not too long ago, I sustained an injury testing out a new workout Routine. I have previously done workouts on the Stationary Bike and wanted to complete the Challenge. I read about Jared, his story and wanted to experience some of the results he has gotten. It was a bonus to me that some of the trainers I really enjoy. Christina really knows how to motivate.

I Decided to complete the “Ride” BODi Block for September.

My results are consistent with my Health and Fitness Goals.

It’s great to see that Body Fat%, Weight and Fat Mass all went down. Unfortunately my Lean Mass did Suffer a little bit, not enough to trigger a concern.

I consider these results to be in line with my Health and Fitness Goals. With minor tweaks, it can be easy to reach them!

Looking at Additional Torso, all of the measurements shrunk!

I was already familiar with and a little adapted to the bike workouts from previous rides. Seeing the measurements continue trending downward just motivates me to work harder.

Arms

The BODi block “Ride” was all about stationary bike workouts. There was very few arm workouts during the Block, it shows that I lost in both arms. This goes against my Health and Fitness goals, I want to gain Lean mass while reducing Fat Mass.

My Health Plan

For Supplements, I took First Thing every day and near the end I was taking BCAA to help Muscle growth.

I was fasting through the majority of the day, often times not eating till 4 or 5 pm.

Turning my shower Cold in the morning for a couple minutes. Trying out some Cold Water Therapy.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I am heading towards my Health and Fitness Goals with solid fat Loss in almost all of my measurements. It would seem that I am slightly off on the Macronutrients of my diet. I should increase protein intake to reduce the loss of Lean Mass. Otherwise, It seems that I should continue what I am doing!
